Ashley Mays is a 5'8 scoring guard from Indianapolis Warren Central. She
possesses excellent range and accuracy, can break down defenses, and
defensively is ahead of the game herself. Her junior year, Mays averaged
21.9 points, nine rebounds and three assists for a 4-16 team. She had a
season-high 40 points against Terre Haute South on her home court. Her stats
were comparable to her sophomore year, when she averaged 18.3 points, 11
rebounds and 3.2 assists. Mays still has the potential to get much better.
Ashley Mays verbally committed to Purdue on 2/15/01, and officially signed
during the early signing period of November 2001. She chose Purdue over Big

11-19-01...We have confirmation that Ashley Mays has sent her LOI to Purdue. The
Purdue staff will likely not officially comment on any one player in the class until
they receive all of the letters on campus for the entire class, so we will continue

confirmation on Keys, Duncan and Mays. Junior college sophomore forward Sultra
Harding will wait until the spring to sign.
