PLAYER BIO

Natasha Vitalievna Bogdanova (pronounced bog-DAHN-ah-vah), a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, is a forward with an inside-outside game in a strong, but lean, body. Her range extends to the perimeter, but is better in the mid-range. A sponge when it comes to learning the game, Bogdanova has not limited herself to just learning a post game, as her 6'4 frame would steer her to develop.

Bogdanova left Russia when she was 15 for Canada, where the family believed she could develop both her basketball and academic skills. After two years north of the border, Natasha went on a search for American schools to upgrade the level of her competition. Ending up at Charlotte Christian, a school that won the Class 3A North Carolina private school title in 2003, and plays a national high school schedule.

Bogdanova was mentioned to Purdue coach Kristy Curry by Charlotte Christian head coach Eddie Rollins, who had sent his daughter to the Purdue Elite Camp in 2003. Bogdanova eventually gave Curry a signature on November 17th, 2003, choosing Purdue for the mix of academics and athletics, plus Curry's family atmosphere.

Bogdanova also considered Notre Dame, North Carolina and Harvard, and took official visits to Purdue and Notre Dame.

She plans to major in business management.

SCOUTING REPORTS

Charlotte Christian teammate Elizabeth Simpson..."She's really aggressive on offense. What also makes her a good player is she's coachable. That's a quality, that once you find it, is an awesome quality in a player. She looks for us, and she has a beautiful jump shot." (February 10, 2004)

Purdue head coach Kristy Curry..."Natasha has great size and is extremely versatile. She is a good shooter and is a very good slasher. I think this young lady is a big-time sleeper in this year's class. She has a chance to be an impact player at our level before she finishes her career." (November 17, 2003)
