Greg McQuay is the older brother of Purdue recruit Gary McQuay.
Greg and Gary ended up in the same graduating class due to an illness
Greg suffered (chicken pox) in the seventh grade. Greg is 15 months
older than Gary. Greg McQuay couldn't manage the required combination
of GPA and test scores to attend Purdue on scholarship with his
brother Gary for the 1996-97 season. Instead, Greg will attend
Southern Idaho junior college and hopes that Coach Keady has room for
him in two years. In the meantime, Greg will work on his basketball
skills and pursue studies in art education. A sample of Greg's
artwork is the design of the Cougar mascot in the Gary West gym.
During Greg's high school career, Gary West went 64-22 and
won two sectional championships. His numbers over the last two seasons
have been nearly identical at just around 16 points and 11 rebounds
per game. Greg gets most of his minutes in the post at center, but is
better built to play power forward. He is a shot-blocker and a leaper,
with a 46 in vertical. Rebounding has never been a problem, but an
outside shot has. Greg will look to develop his offensive range in JC
and further strengthen his already solid defensive game.
5-20-98...Shooting around in Mackey on Tuesday was Greg McQuay,
along with Gary and Jaraan Cornell. Both players had their shirts off an
physically look identical from the neck down. Body fat percentage probably
in the 5% range...very skinny, but broad in the shoulders. Gary was hitting
around 90% of his jumpers in the 10-15-foot range, and he was taking a lot
of them. Greg, on the other hand, was making maybe 30% of the shots from
that range, but didn't look to be trying quite as hard as Gary. Greg did
hit a three in the shoot-around. Now, this was only a shoot-around and
really wasn't much of an indication of talent, but a few things could be
seen. The first was that Gary and Greg are still connected in the passing
department. Lots of alley-oops and plenty of rather casual passes that
ended up right on the money. These two still instinctive know where each
other will be on the court. Second, Gary McQuay will be fine as a power
forward or even out at the 3. And Greg will likely be our starting
center next year. They should never have to compete with each other for
playing time. Two totally different games (although Gary is more versatile).
It's a good sign that Greg is on campus this early. In talking to Tony
Mayfield, the players play in open gym practically every day.
4-9-98...Greg officially signed a letter of intent Wednesday morning
to join the Boilers for the 98-99 season. He described his decision as
half because of his brother, and the other half because of his mother, who
hoped to get the family closer. Greg leaves Southern Idaho much the same
way he did Gary West. Greg was an all-state player at Gary and an all-
conference player at CSI, and both gyms will continue on, decorated with
his artwork on the gym floor. Too bad Purdue had a new floor put in just
last year. "It's a relief," said McQuay, "It took two years to finally sign
that letter of intent. I'm excited, and I'm looking forward to it."
4-8-98...Greg will sign a letter of intent today during the first
day of the spring signing period. Another article on Greg can be accessed on
the Indianapolis Star.
4-2-98...Greg McQuay will be joining his brother Gary on the Purdue
roster next year. He announced his intentions to attend Purdue in an
afternoon press conference, and will receive the scholarship recently
vacated by Mosi Barnes. Greg chose Purdue over Providence, and later Virginia
when Providence coach Pete Gillen took the head coaching position at Virginia.
Greg will help out at both the 4 and 5 spots. Keady has told him his brother
Gary could be seeing some time at the 3 this year, which should give Greg
plenty of minutes of action.
3-28-98...Greg is scheduled to choose between Purdue, Providence
and Bowling Green within the next week. Current Boiler Gary McQuay said Greg
still would like to join the Boilers and Gary, but he will take some time to
weigh his options. Greg now has a scholarship waiting for him since the
departure of Mosi Barnes freed up a scholarship.
3-6-98...Coach Thrash's Southern Idaho squad has the 4th best defense
among Division I junior colleges, allowing just 64.6 points per game.
3-1-98...Southern Idaho defeated Snow College 79-76 on Saturday to
win the Scenic West Althletic conference outright. "It feels like we're on
top of the world," said coach Jim Thrash. "The men worked hard to get here,
and they won it because of their character." CSI trailed by ten points with
12:30 remaining, but went on a nine point run with seven coming from McQuay.
The score remained close until the final minute when CSI finally put it
away. Greg finished with 17 points.
CSI has wrapped up the #1 seed in the upcoming Region 18 Division I
tournament held March 4-7, where they will take on 8th seeded College of
Eastern Utah (14-16) on Thursday. The winner advances to the tournament semis
to play the winner of the Ricks College vs. Utah Valley game. CSI finishes
the regular season 27-3, 15-3 in conference. A strong point again for CSI
this season has been intense defense, holding their opponents to 65.2 points
per game, 11.6 points below the conference average for scoring defense of
76.8 points per game. No other team in the SWAC had scoring defense numbers
below 72 points per game. Greg leads the team in field goals made (142),
rebounding (7.4 rpg, 96 offensive, 110 defensive), blocks (1.6 bpg) and is
third in scoring. (new season stats below)
2-28-98...The College of Southern Idaho has clinched at least a
share of the Scenic West Athletic Conference title with a 79-73 victory over
co-leader Dixie College. CSI has been struggling with free-throws all year
long, but used 10 free-throws in the final minute of play to seal the
victory. "I couldn't be more proud of a group of kids that just put it all
out on the floor tonight," said head coach Jim Thrash. Greg McQuay led all
scorers with 24 points, and used a 360 dunk in the first minutes of the
game off a broken press to set the aggressive tone for the game. CSI is
currently ranked 14th in the nation among Division I junior colleges, while
Dixie College is rated 4th.
2-24-98...Posting two wins over the weekend has put Southern Idaho
into a two way tie for the Scenic West Athletic Conference lead with Dixie
College. This sets up a Friday showdown at Dixie for the conference lead
with only one game left in the season.
2-20-98...The Gary Post Tribune today had an article stating Greg
has been offered a scholarship to attend Purdue, something that was posted here
back in October. The question still remains where the scholarship will come
from. The article hypothesized that it is now "less likely" that Cameron
Stephens and Jamaal Davis will be wearing a Boiler uniform next season. Pure
speculation. All indications are that Cam and Jamaal are on track to play
next season, and speculation to the contrary is careless at this point. One
source inside the Purdue athletic department recently said "Greg McQuay was
was placed at Southern Idaho for a reason." That reason was to learn the
Purdue offense under Coach Thrash and work out under the newly installed
strength and conditioning program from Purdue. And to join the Boilers after
two seasons. This situation has not changed. The question remains...where
will the scholarship come from.
Jamaal Davis' father said he talks to Jamaal every week, and still
expects him to be at Purdue next fall.
Purdue still remains McQuay's #1 choice, but if it were up to his
high school coach Ike Brown, Greg might choose to go elsewhere. "He would
love to be there with his brother," said Brown in a phone interview three
weeks ago. "Don't know if that would be a wise move or not if he's looking
for playing time." After Greg's visit to Purdue in December, he reportedly
cancelled a recruiting trip to Bowling Green, who is said to have a
scholarship offer on the table. Providence and Ball State are also in the
picture.
2-19-98...Providence has Greg among 6 or 7 recruits they need to
fill two scholarships. Sources from Southern Idaho still say Purdue is where
he wants to go.
1-24-98...Coach Thrash was so upset with the team's shooting from
the free throw line that he pulled all the players out of their dorm rooms
on Sunday to shoot 100 free-throws a piece. The lack of clutch free throw
shooting again hurt the team in Friday's 84-79 double overtime win against
Salt Lake City CC. Greg McQuay missed a pair of freebies at the end of
regulation, another pair at the end of the first overtime, but made two
at the end of the second overtime to secure the victory. Salt Lake City
went 0-4 from the line in the second overtime, causing Thrash to
respond "There is a God and He did answer my prayers." With 4 seconds left
at the end of regulation with CSI up by one, Greg was fouled hard, then
assessed a technical foul for retaliation. Greg missed both, and SLC hit
one to send the game into OT. Greg scored 4 points in the first overtime
but missed two freebies at the end of the period that would have won the
game. McQuay shot 50 percent from the line in the game, 7 percent under
his season average.
With a Dixie College (16-4, 6-2) loss on Friday to Snow College,
CSI (19-1, 7-1) moved into sole possession of first place in their
conference.
1-17-98...College of Southern Idaho is currently ranked #11, with
their only loss to the 5th ranked team in the nation Dixie College. Dixie
lost their Friday night matchup with Utah Valley, giving them two conference
losses and putting them a game behind Southern Idaho (17-1, 5-1) in the race
for the Scenic West Athletic Conference title.
1-12-98...At this time last year, fans were wondering if Greg would
settle into his role at Southern Idaho. Now he has something else to get
used to...being a star of the team. Southern Idaho is currently 16-1
with their only loss to Dixie College (ranked the #5 juco team at the time).
Greg was named tournament MVP in the Arctic Circle Classic just before
Christmas. While home for Christmas, he attended the Providence game on
12/27.
11-21-97...Scouting report..."Our sophomores look stronger and
better. Greg has done really well. He seems to have taken that step up and
is providing some leadership for us as well. He was on the coach's list for the
first half and didn't play, but came in the second half and scored 16 pts, had
2 dunks that wowed the crowd and some big rebounds. The crowd was displeased
that he sat out the first half and kept chanting for him to come in. I
don't know what the problem was, but it couldn't have been anything too
bad. We have one player suspended right now and one that quit after he and
coach couldn't agree on his hair style. Our guards look really great and
we really have some solid shooters. After two games, they look like they
are really going to get up and down the floor." (scouting report by Connie
Hardy)
10-21-97...An early look at Southern Idaho and Greg McQuay..." The
team looks very talented this year. We have 18 on the roster. Three will
redshirt for sure and possibly one more. Lots to keep happy with playing
time. However, most are guards. Greg looks very good this year. Coach
said at a luncheon yesterday he's about 1000% better. He's really showing
some leadership this year and looks very strong. We have our first scrimmage
against 3 other schools today. We will be against two NAIA 4 year schools
and one from our region. I'm excited to see them play someone besides
themselves. We have some excellent shooters and quickness. I hope the
coach lets them play some up and down the court basketball this year. "
(scouting report by Connie Hardy)
10-19-97...Greg McQuay is rumored to have been asked to join the Boiler
squad in 98-99. A scholarship was also rumored to be part of the deal, but
it is unknown where the staff will come up with it. Greg was heralded as
the better player of the two McQuay's coming out of high school. Considering
Gary McQuay is likely the most versatile player currently on the Purdue
squad, and said by Coach Keady as Purdue's next rising NBA prospect, it isn't
hard to see why Purdue is still after the other half of the McQuay duo.
9-27-97...Greg will make an official visit to Purdue the weekend of
October 3-5.
6-24-97...An important ingredient missing from the Southern Idaho
team last season was post play. McQuay was just a freshman and the team lost
several players to injury. A much needed improvement could come via
Fresno State. It is rumored by the Sun Times that former DePaul assistant
Lance Irvin wants a head coaching position at Southern Idaho. Lance's
younger brother, 6'3 Nick Irvin, is currently a non-qualifier signed to
Fresno State. Melvin Ely is also a Fresno State non-qualifier. It is
speculated that both players would join Lance Irvin at Southern Idaho
if the position was offered to him, rather than sit out a year as
non-qualifiers. Ely is considered one of the best big men in the country,
and Irvin is a three time Illinois all-state player. Ely and Irvin scored
21 and 17 respectively in a recent game against an Indiana all-star
team.
A couple of different sources have said lately that there is still
a mutual interest between Purdue and Greg McQuay. Although the scholarship
situation is tight, a lot can happen in a year and a half.
4-18-97...With now three verbals from juniors, the chances of Greg
joining Purdue in another year are growing less likely, if he wants a
scholarship that is. Purdue has one more scholarship to give for the next
two years and it looks likely it will be reserved for a kid with more
size. There was speculation that Purdue might try to bring in Greg at the
end of this year. The only way that a junior college player can qualify
after just one year at a juco, is if he qualified for division I before he
went to the junior college. If a player goes to junior college because
of academics, then he is stuck there until he qualifies after his second year.
Many of the juco players that you see transferring after one year go to
junior college to improve skills, not grades.
3-18-97...An end of the season report on Greg McQuay..."I just got
back from the Regional tournament. We lost our first game, but we gave
the #1 seed a run for their money. We even had a chance to win in the
last second, but had 2 3-pointers rim in and out. Greg had a so-so game,
but their big inside guy killed us. No one could stop him all night.
I watched Purdue on TV the other night. Gary moves a lot like Greg.
I had him picked out even before I saw his name. Doesn't look that much
like Greg in the face. The coach said there would be a meeting with
all the team to see where things stood for next year. I know Coach is
recruiting and said he wasn't coming back until he had signed a post
player. " (scouting report by Connie Hardy)
3-6-97...Another scouting report from Connie Hardy on the
progress of Greg..."Our last 3 outings Greg has had 3 great games.
He has really come on strong. One thing that has helped him, is that
the coach lets him stay in the game even if he makes a mistake. In the
past it seemed like one missed rebound or a bobbled pass or bad choice
of shot and he was back on the bench. Coach also let the team run and
gun a little and we have beaten the #1 and #3 and #5 teams in the
league and came close to #2. Everyone here loves letting them run a
little. The offense he has been using is so slow and boring and they
pass the ball until 15 seconds on the shot clock before even trying a
shot. Too many times the clock winds down and we have to throw up a
desparation shot and turn the ball over. Any way, everyone seems
happy and I know that Greg is."
"I've talked to him many times, especially when he was really
discouraged, and tried to keep him postive and tell him that his chance
would come. Another booster and I had a little talk with the team
and told them that we would always be there for them no matter what.
If they give 100% and still lose, it's OK. Greg came up to me and
spread those long arms and gave me a big hug and said, "I thought
you were going to chew us out." He seemed to appreciate a good word
and the encouragement. He certainly has played well and is even
enjoying himself. He scored 20 points in one game and 12 in another,
great rebounding (really up there above everyone) and a few steals
and several blocked shots. Coach said at the Booster Function that
this was not the person who had been playing previously, must be his
twin brother. Anyway, we are finished seasonwise at 8-10 in the
league and 18-12 overall. We go north to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for
our tournament starting March 5-8. Other teams have games this
weekend and we will go in either 7th or 8th seed. We will play #1 or
#2. We can win if we play team ball." (scouting report by Connie Hardy)
1-11-97...An update from Southern Idaho on Greg McQuay's tournament
play in Las Vegas by Connie Hardy. "We lost our first 2 games by 17 and
14 points. We won the 3rd by 14. We lost to Western Nebraska and Malcolm
X out of Chicago and beat Southwest Missouri State - New Plains. We did
not play well the first two games. We were minus our starting center
and other tall guy, but Greg stepped in and did a good job after some
adjustments. Didn't play much defense at first and the coach made it
clear we would go home with 3 losses if we didn't get down and work
harder on defense. Guess it worked, they came out in that third game
ready to play. Coach said the 3rd team was the best team we played.
Greg had a little accident and got his chin cut and a front tooth
broken off. It took 6 stitches to close his chin. Greg said he got
a head under the chin."
12-19-96...From "starting to see more playing time" to just plain
starting. Greg started in the Colorado NW game and played quite a bit. He
had three dunks and a couple of blocked shots. He really got the crowd fired
up. The team left today for a few days off for Christmas break and will return
December 26 to start with 2-a-days on the 27th. Then the team is off to Las
Vegas for a tournament Jan 2-4. They will be playing teams that are all
ranked in the top 20 JUCO teams. The team lost their starting center
to an emergency appendectomy 2 days ago. That should mean more
playing time for Greg. Francis will be able to start practice the
first of Jan, but he probably won't be fully recovered for a few more
weeks.
Expanding on the stats listed below, Greg is shooting 33/63 from
the field and 11/22 from the line for a season total of 77 points over 12
games. The rebounding breakdown is 23 offensive and 36 defensive, and his
assist-to-turnover ration is 1.2 to 1.0. Southern Idaho is currently 11-1,
losing their only game in regional play to Eastern Utah. Sothern Idaho is
2-1 in region play (information provided by Connie Hardy).
12-11-96...Greg McQuay is starting to see a little more playing time
as he learns Coach Thrash's system. The trouble has been on the defensive
end. Thrash has a simple philosophy, if you don't like to play defense you
better get used to sitting the bench. This work ethic may be the reason
Southern Idaho has the top ranked defense among junior colleges in the nation
through the first ten games of the season (of which they are 10-0). Once Greg
learns the system he should get even more minutes. At this point he is
averaging between 12 and 15 minutes a game.
12-03-96...Greg has played well, wowed the crowds, and is working harder
on defense than early on. He is not starting nor seeing the playing time he
would like, but we (Southern Idaho) have a large roster and equally good
athletes. I know as the season progresses, he will see more and more
playing time. Our team is 6-0. We have struggled a little on offense as a
team, but our defense has won our games thus far, setting a new school record
for least points scored by our opponents at 49 (I think). (scouting report
by Connie Hardy)
9-13-96...When Greg McQuay chose Southern Idaho University as his
junior college of choice many people asked "Why?". Southern Idaho coach
Jim Thrash has been a friend of Keady for over 20 years and was more than
appreciative to have the opportunity to work with Greg McQuay. Another
Purdue connection is also now working with the Southern Idaho program.
When Thrash was in need of a proven weight training program, he called
Gene Keady. "If I needed something and called him to come out," Thrash
said, "he'd be here tomorrow morning. You can have a lot of friends, but
you're fortunate if you have one like Gene." Former Purdue guard Todd
Foster is now working to install Purdue's strength and conditioning
routines into the Southern Idaho program. If Greg McQuay does make it
to Purdue in two years, he should be well prepared for basketball the Keady
way.
6-22-96...Greg McQuay played a little in the shadow of his younger
brother Gary during the Indiana/Kentucky All-Star game. It was Greg
that scored 29 points against the Illinois All-Stars, but finished
more modestly during the Lexington game. Greg finished with two blocks
and got rave reviews from Indiana Stars coach Broughton. "Every McQuay
block, we kept in play where we had a chance to go get it," Broughton
said. "The difference in the game was defensively in the first half.
We were better than they were." After struggling in the first few
minutes against the taller Kentucky squad, the McQuays entered the game
and sealed up the paint. Kentucky dominated the offensive boards, but
generally were unable to convert the extra attempts thanks to Indiana's
interior defense. Greg exhibited a smooth turnaround jumper and decent
passing skills out to a skilled Indiana group of guards (see stats
below).
6-15-96...Playing in an all-star matchup against the state of
Illinois incoming recruits, Greg found out that Ronnie Fields can jump,
but can't jump high enough to shoot over a McQuay. Greg rejected 2 of
Fields' shots and Gary rejected 2 more. Although the Illinois team
won 132-117, Greg believes that it would have been a much different
story if the McQuays would have arrived on time for the game. The two
arrived just ten minutes before tipoff and didn't play until half way
into the first half. "I think if my brother and I had played the first
ten minutes, it wouldn't have gotten so far out of hand early,"
commented Greg. "It was our own fault we didn't play early. We got
confused about the arrival time." Gary quickly quipped, "No, really,
the main reason we were late was because we wanted to make a grand
entrance." Greg led the team in scoring with 29 points, with 21 points
coming in the second half. The brothers McQuay combined for 42 points.
(See stats below)
6-14-96...Greg McQuay will attend Southern Idaho junior college
with the hopes of coming to Purdue to play with his brother Gary in
two years. "We'll be back together again," said Gary McQuay.
4-30-96...Greg McQuay has won an region-wide art contest called
the Red Ribbon logo competition. The competition was to design the
logo for the annual Red Ribbon anti-drug campaign, which takes place
in October. The picture is a young man with a slightly crooked smile
holding a red ribbon that says "You can count on me - I'm drug free."
His logo will appear on billboards and T-shirts around the area during
the campaign. He was the runner-up last year. Greg wants to major
in art education in college.
4-14-96...As expected by some who foresaw the lack of talented
senior power forwards this year, both Gary and Greg McQuay were picked
to play on the Indiana All-Star team, who will face the Kentucky All-
Stars early this summer. Many of the players are talented at a couple
of positions, and should help file a variety of roles for the team.
"That was one of the things we (the coaches) looked at with this
group," Broughton said. "We wanted players who can play more than one
position." Both McQuays will see a majority of playing time at power
forward. The fact that the McQuays are also the tallest members of the
squad and have extensive experience in the paint will also mean they
will mix in at center along with 6-7 Chris Hahn (Alexandria) and 6-6
Ben Anderson (Benton Central).
The 13 member squad will play June 22 in Lexington, Kentucky,
and June 29 at Market Square Arena. The McQuays will be joined on
the team by fellow Purdue recruit Jaraan Cornell.
4-9-96...The Indy Star reported that Greg is expected to enroll
at Hutchinson Community College and take the path of Roy Hairston. After
completing two years in Kansas, Greg plans on joining the Boilers for his
final two years of eligibility.
4-8-96...Both McQuays played well at the Top40 Workout. To one
onlooker their individual skills were similar, but most observers noticed
their intensity. "The McQuays - right to the point - are fantastic,"
commented Jasper coach Ken Schultheis. "They're finishers, I mean
finishers. They get it to the post, it's over."
4-1-96...Greg McQuay has been named as one of the state's Top40
seniors and will play in the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top40 Workout
on April 6, at the University of Indianapolis' Nicoson Hall. McQuay
was selected from 1,600 prep seniors from around the state and will be
playing with fellow Boiler recruit Mosi Barnes and his brother Gary.
There will be two sessions of play. The first from 1-3pm and the
last from 3:30-5:30pm. The Top40 Workout is open to the public and
admission is $4.
3-30-96...Greg's academic problems are related to the core class
requirements set forth by the NCAA. According to his brother Gary, Greg
will attend a JC program. "What he plans to do is play for a couple of
years (in junior college) and then come to Purdue," said Gary McQuay.
Greg's choices are down to four junior colleges -- Vincennes (Indiana),
Panama City (Florida), Kankakee (Illinois), and Hutchinson (Kansas).
2-27-96...Gary West Side blew Andrean out in the fourth quarter to
win the first round sectional game by the score of 86-73.
Andrean had beaten West Side a few weeks ago, but played this game
without 6'3" forward Reynaud Jones (Northern Illinois recruit) who was their
second leading scorer for the season and a strong defender. Andrean's point
guard Carson Cunningham (Oregon State recruit) had 35 points. He hit a raft
of three pointers, even with defenders in his face, but ran out of gas in
the fourth quarter.
Greg has a more muscular build than Gary. He's built a little along
the lines of Mike Scearce - a lot of his height is in his head and neck. He
isn't as quick as Gary, but he's stronger inside. He scored 15 points, all
of it on short range shots including a dunk. His outside shooting touch
looked a little awkward in warmups - he's strictly an inside player. He was
3 of 6 at the free throw line and didn't try any outside shots in the game.
He got in foul trouble early in the third quarter and had to sit down.
Most interesting play was when one of the Andrean players tried to lay
the ball in, and the two McQuays blocked the shot simultaneously as if they
were one player. Greg was on top of the Andrean player and roofed him.
Gary swooped in and went over Greg to assist in the block from behind and
above Greg.
Gary seems to be a cooler headed player on the floor, while Greg seems
a llittle more emotional. Greg also seems to be more of a reactive player
than Gary. Both get down the floor pretty well. Gary is more finesse,
while Greg is more power. Gary looks like the better player of the two.
Rumor has it that Purdue is looking at trying to get Greg into prep
school to get his grades up. The local paper this morning said that Greg
may also wind up at Purdue if he can get his grades up.
(Game summary supplied by two region based Purdue followers...thanks guys!)
5-7-95...Both McQuay Brothers played on the Gary Sport Youth
team over the weekend, which was the team that bounced Mosi Barnes' Lafayette
AAU team in the first round of the tournament on Saturday. They both
played more of a center role than a forward one. They switched in and out
of the game for each other. Although they didn't score much, they are
good defensive players, mostly remaining under the boards. Their team
rotated 11 players and was strong in the paint. The team's forwards
frequently slashed down the lane to the bucket, collapsing the defense in
on the centers. It was a rough game. However, both of them are decent
shot blockers.
Greg was the better shot blocker of the two in the game that
I saw on Sunday. He was more in control and was quick back on defense.
Although he didn't score much, he did grab many boards. His teammates
helped him little in the paint, causing him to get dunked on twice in a row.
The team that they were playing passed well down low, allowing the easy dunk
on the center. At one point in the game, Greg was the only defender back
on defense on a 2 on 1 situation which led to an easy bucket. This was
not really his fault, for the team they were playing was very quick, plus
Greg's teammates were being lazy. This situation happened twice in a row
drawing jeers from the crowd until the coach switched his defense to give
Greg some help. He should develop nicely his senior year.
I was very impressed with Greg's composure in the stretch that the
teams defense broke down. The two Houston forwards doing the damage,
Jerald Brown and Derrion Yates (this guy is one to watch), were very
vocal on their dunks. Greg never said a word and didn't even shoot the
smallest of dirty looks toward the players. Although this makes it sound
like they were getting killed, the score was tied at halftime. The forward
on the Sports Youth team, Charles Haney, kept them in the game with an
impressive slashing offense and a great touch.
