a) Who are they recruiting?

Don't know. Do you know? Most likely 2011's and 2012's.

The latest verbal, Val, is a setter.

b) What are their needs?

6'6" MB to take over when Tiffany graduates? :)

c) Recaps of games.

Purdue has lost to 3 teams that are 30-0.

Having to play 2 ranked teams in one day (Kentucky and Kansas State)
on the road, it was amazing to win against Kansas State, I thought.

d) Individual stats

Kristin's 1.000 hitting percentage put her in a list of 22 people who
have achieved that. 10 for 10. Pretty awesome.

Jaclyn had a triple double. That is sweet. She is #9 on the career
assists ranks, and looks to be quickly approaching #8, #7, and #6.
She is attacking a lot more this year it seems like, but I didn't
actually look up any statistics...

e) Offensive and defensive strategies

Block, block, block! Great blocking this year!

f) Standout performances, team and individual.

Tiffany was waiting in the wings behind Stephanie. She has really come on strong, with good blocking and a high % hitting.

Carrie is not playing hurt. She had 60 attempts one match. So, her shoulder must be doing much better! As a Senior, she brings a lot of enthusiasm and a sense of urgency.

g) B-10 and national standings

Penn State is Penn State. 3 starting positions reloaded.

Minnesota with the #1 recruiting class, expected to not lose at all,
but they are playing a very tough schedule. They have 2 new setters,
so they are feeling some growing pains. But, they should be very good
come NCAA tournament time. Or sooner.

Michigan is undefeated, including some impressive wins. Lexi Zimmerman
as setter is running the team well. They have started out undefeated
in pre-season before, so some people are skeptical. I think they are
really good this year. Re-watched last year's Michigan @ Purdue match,
and we won in a squeaker in 5. They will be tough!

IL has some firepower. You will be able to see them play at Purdue
this weekend. (But not vs. Purdue.) They could end up #2 in the Big Ten.

h) Injuries
Catherine hurt her ankle, but it is supposed to be fine now.
She looked impressive during the scrimmages before she got hurt.

Anna broke her hand this summer, but seems to be playing with it
just wrapped in an ace bandage. :)

later. Going to watch Baylor vs. Texas on ESPNU. Gotta get home!
