To be fair at least 3 of the players had surgery or injuries off season that interfered with conditioning. Howell is playing injured. So 4 of the 9 are not entirely healthy. 3 more are Freshmen and hitting the freshman wall about now. We just came off an overtime game which took even more out of the team. We traveled from one end of the conference to another on a short turn around. Versyp plays a switching type defense that requires a lot of scrambling. Players end up "resting" on offense and that hurts offensive production. IMHO, We need at least 11 healthy players and 4 offensive scorers to play that defensive system.
One would think there would be a few studies on how to condition players and what to do in practice to make sure players can perform in a game.
