Obviously, it would make us all feel better if Danny had been able to sign all 4s and 5s...guys with unbelieveable speed and dimension. But no one signs that kind of a class...even USC and Fla. Be that as it may, I'm encouraged by this recruiting class in general. It adds perspective to note how poorly rated the classes of Boise State, TCU and Cincy have been in recent years and yet they have emerged as highly competivitive programs even though they play in lesser conferences.
The big question to me is "did we get the quality of talent we needed in the areas we most needed it?". We inked several DBs, some WRs with size and/or speed, a couple of bigger LBs and some big lineman. We got an interesting prospect at QB and some athletes. It seems we recruited to the areas that needed help.
It will be interesting to see how Hope is at finding the "diamonds in the rough" like Tiller seemed to do. When you look at most recruiting classes, you normally get about 10-12 guys that develop into starters or signifcant back-up talent. You also get 10-12 that are getting a free education. Question is, do we have 10-12 in this class that will make the kind of memories we all want to remember?
