I think generally you're looking at about the same thing. As I mentioned, Ohio State went through a period when Tressel was new where they had a long string of problems and there was a lot of the talk that we see with Purdue now. I don't think suddenly Ohio State cops decided to let them do whatever.

I don't think the problem is the arrests, I think the problem is how it has been dealt with. I've stated with multiple situations that I thought the punishments we saw didn't really seem to be all that tough. As we have seen, these past punishments haven't really brought about any change within these athletes or the coaching staff (Tiller thought players didn't go out on Thursdays...even though we had seen a couple of arrests on those days, including Bushong getting a DUI early Friday morning before a football game!). Of course we are going to see problems here and there, but I think the problem isn't that, it's the reaction we've seen from the staff and the lack of punishment we've seen. I mean, Lindsey gets a PI and gets suspended through practice - Lymon got essentially no punishment for what was obviously at least as equal of a problem - and when he sat out for a half against a 1-AA team Tiller wouldn't even admit it was punishment (like sitting out that half was even punishment). We saw where that way of dealing with things led to....

Overall, I would just like to see more leadership from coaches AND players. When Ohio State went to the NC game, a few of their players came forward and extended the rules that Tressel put in place because they didn't want their teammates screwing around late at night.

I think that whole nightclub incident last year was just a perfect example. Here you had several teammates out late on a Thursday getting drunk when they had practice, a senior leader on the team (Keller) getting into fights apparently with a woman, him and other players taking shots with an underage teammate, you had a drunk teammate driving to come there (I don't remember the details - maybe he left there or was coming there...one of the 2). That whole situation just was a total example of a lack of leadership.
