db made a great point, and the follow-up was correct, as well. There are some coaches that have a reputation for getting outstanding athletes, and top-flight citizens, as well. Those coaches are rare!

Certainly, Tiller has brought in some kids with significant character flaws. That point cannot be argued. He's brought in some fantastic kids, as well.

The head coach (at -any- school) will never please 100% of the fans, and Tiller is (certainly!) no exception. People b-tch about the lack of blue chip players. That's a fair criticism. But to get those recruits, (as was already pointed out in this thread) any coach is going to have to "take some chances". I doubt there are many people that understand that part of recruiting, and even fewer willing to tolerate it.
