I remember all of the issues surrounding his grades in high school and how some of his classes didn't transfer and all that. From all accounts coming into Purdue he was a solid kid and good student, etc, etc.

However, you can't blame all of his "issues" on bad luck. He has to take the blame for some of what happened to him during his tenure at Purdue. He was the one out playing paintball (if I recall correctly) at 2am on a weeknight. I think you have to question a student-athlete's priorities there. He was the one that was caught drinking underage. You can't just dismiss those incidents.

Lymon was probably the biggest skill-player recruit to come to Purdue in the Tiller era. Unquestionably he did not live up to his hype/potential/whatever you want to call it. If he was in fact the number 4 option last year, why was that? A player of his talent and ability should have been the number 1 option. Why wasn't he? Why did Jake Standeford out-produce him down the stretch last year?

John Standeford and Taylor Stubblefield didn't get drafted because they didn't have NFL-type abilities, despite all of their gaudy numbers at Purdue. Their numbers, much like Dorien Bryant's, were more a function of the Purdue system. Lymon had/has the NFL-type ability. It's up to him as to whether he will utilize it and have a pro career.
