PURDUE MENS BASKETBALL:
Purdue @ Indiana Recap

Indiana 63, Purdue 58

Both teams came out of the locker room shooting the ball well, but Indiana pulled ahead early 19-10. Indiana's lead grew to as high as 13 before they started to cool down and Purdue made a run of their own to cut the lead to 6 at halftime. Purdue was able to cut the Indiana lead to 4 on a layup by Kenny Lowe, but unfortunately for Purdue that would be the last time Lowe would be on the court as he injured his left elbow on the play. Purdue would take its first lead of the 2nd half on an Austin Parkinson 3 pointer a few minutes later. Purdue had a 1 point lead several times late in the game, but were either unable to stop the Hoosiers or unable to score on a few possessions down the stretch. Two 3 pointers by Rodrick Wilmont proved to be the difference as Indiana was able to pull out the victory in Assembly Hall. Kartelo had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a season high 30 minutes played. Lowe scored 13 points on 6-10 shooting, before injuring his elbow, in only 24 minutes of playing time. Parkinson led Purdue in assists with 5 and just 1 turnover. Other contributors include Buscher with 10 points and Teague with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Purdue returns to Mackey Arena on Saturday, Jan 31st to play The Ohio State Buckeyes at 12 EST.
