Watching a depleted Purdue getting blown out by Connecticut today must have made Purdue's future needs very clear to Ashley Wilson. The 6-foot forward from Wheeling, Ill. orally committed to Purdue following the game today.
Wilson is a relentless rebounder and lauded for her physical strength. She is also good at handling the ball, which makes her good driving on players. Wilson went head to head with Stanford signee Sarah Boothe on Saturday and the pair played to a near draw with Wilson giving up five inches. Wheeling won the battle, 47-44, to give Warren their first loss of the season.
She chose Purdue over offers from Wisconsin, Michigan State and Marquette. Wilson is rated No. 43 by Hoopgurlz.
