Ramblings
"She can drive off the dribble and pull up to shoot, and she can go to the bucket like she's driving and has a nice step-back shot - very similar to what guys do. She knows basketball and works pretty hard. It's got her to where she's at right now. It's tough when you're guards are not usually very big, and then they have someone that is 6-foot who is capable of dribbling. It's a matchup problem because she can take those little guards down the floor and post up, as well." -- Clinton Central head coach Aaron Charles on Brittany Rayburn.
Big Ten Recruiting
Wisconsin has landed a verbal commitment from class of 2008 point guard Jamie Russell from Rock Falls, Ill. Russell is the second class of 2008 commitment for Wisconsin, and the second 2008 from the state of Illinois for the Badgers. Russell is averaging 21.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.9 steals and 4.0 assists so far this season and is currently out for another week with a sprained knee. Russell had offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Dayton, Bowling Green and Drake. A Wisconsin newspaper story suggested Purdue had offered Russell, but Purdue had no offer of any kind extended to Russell.
