A bumper crop of prospects made it to West Lafayette on Sunday to see Purdue maul Penn State. Brittany Rayburn is a regular at home games, but she was also joined by over a dozen high school players, some of interest to Purdue. Some of the players identified sitting in the area behind the Purdue bench were Purdue signee Samantha Woods, Benton Central (IN) sophomore Skyler Gick, Logansport (IN) 6'1 freshman Jasmine Penny, Beavercreek (OH) 6'2 sophomore Mikaela Ruef, Versailles (OH) 6'1 junior Justine Raterman, and Pickerington Central (OH) 6'2 sophomore Emilee Harmon.

Harmon is said to be high on Purdue's list, and mutual interest has Purdue in Harmon's top five. As a freshman, Harmon averaged 13.5 points and 7.9 rebounds on 54-percent shooting helping Pickerington Central to the Division I final game. harmon was named to the Street & Smith All-American honorable mention team this summer, and was named the best power forward in the class of 2009 at last spring's Deep South Classic tournament. She is currently ranked at the nation's 14th-best prospect by All Star Girls Report.

Lebanon junior Maggie Boyer was also spotted in the crowd.

Visiting last Thursday during the Michigan game was 5'6 sophomore point guard Morgan (Mo) Peacock of Winchester Community (IN). Peacock spent time sitting with Rayburn during the game. The Purdue staff got a first-hand look at Peacock on the 30th as Winchester took Rayburn's Attica team into overtime and won the game 73-71. Peacock made an unofficial visit to Indiana on Sunday. She also ranks second in her class academically at Winchester with a 3.98 GPA.

Diggins in the spotlight

Sophomore Skylar Diggins was profiled in a couple articles at the end of December. Through 13 games, Diggins was averaging 23.7 points, 6.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 5.1 steals. Those numbers together with a near-perfect GPA (3.875) have brought attention from Purdue, Maryland, Tennessee, Connecticut, Duke, Notre Dame, Wake Forest and Michigan State, among others. She has unofficially visited several schools including Purdue, Notre Dame, Duke and Tennessee.

Both articles have a limited shelf life, so read them while you can.
