Detroit Community season overA battle of Class C No. 1 and No. 2 did not disappoint as the state quarterfinal game between Detroit Community and undefeated No. 2 Saginaw Nouvel went into overtime before Nouvel squeeked out the 55-54 victory. Lakeshia Mosley scored Community's final two points on freethrows, then quickly fouled with four seconds left. Nouvel missed the first of a one-and-one, but Community could not get the pass downcourt in time.
Nouvel used a 2-3 zone to deny inlet passes to Mosley. Mosley led Community with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Community finished the season with a 21-2 record.
