North Central ranked 14th in nationStudent Sports has their first best guess at the preseason top high school teams in the nation, and Amber Harris and North Central High is rated No. 14. No other Indiana teams are ranked among the top 50. Outside the state, Erin Lawless's former high school team, Fenwick (IL), is ranked just a spot ahead of North Central at No. 13.
Class of 2006 profiles updated
Player profiles have been created, posted and updated for the three Class of 2006 commitments -- Amber Harris, Dee Dee Jernigan and FahKara Malone. All three profiles also have the 2005-06 high school schedule posted for each player's high school team. And a quick look at the schedules indicates a possible showdown between Harris's North Central and Jernigan's East Chicago in late December.

Early signing period close
The NCAA's early signing period this year begins on November 9th and runs to November 16th. Coaches are prohibited from speaking to the media about signees until they have the signed letter-of-intent in hand. The coaches at Purdue traditionally have reserved comment on any particular signee until all the expected letters-of-intent have arrived from the players they expect to sign. So far, that list includes Amber Harris, Dee Dee Jernigan and FahKara Malone.
