Purdue's chances with Crump looking good

A decision is coming within two weeks from juco point guard Tarrance Crump, and in a recent article in the Journal and Courier, Purdue's chances are good of gaining his services.

The 6'1 point prospect from Shelton State Community College (AL) has been offered by Michigan State, Arkansas, Washington and Wyoming, but said Purdue is currently the team to beat. Wyoming will be the final school to get a visit on April 16th, and Crump just returned from a visit to Oklahoma.

Crump was recently named to the NJCAA Junior College All-American third team after being named All-Region XXII.

    Jerel Allen visits Wisconsin

Mott Community College (MI) guard Jerel Allen visited Wisconsin and Florida State last week, and is seeing more programs enter the picture. The 6'4, 195-pound shooter has already unofficially visited Purdue, and is also interested in Texas, Michigan, Miami, and a few other latecomers. Allen averaged 17.2 points as a juco sophomore, shooting 42-percent from the perimeter.

Juco power forward down to two

A 6'8 junior college power forward drew looks from Purdue was on the campus of South Carolina this past weekend. Kevin Palacios, a 250-pound junior college sophomore from Eastern Oklahoma State Junior College, has a followup visit scheduled with Creighton on April 16th. Those two schools lead for his services.

As a sophomore, he averaged 13 points and six rebounds.

Palacios, a native of Venezuela who played high school ball in New Jersey, has also been seeing some additional interest from Purdue, Penn State, Oklahoma, Oregon State and South Florida, but he has no plans beyond taking the two official visits to USC and Creighton.
