The Campbell family already had one sibling at a Purdue campus. On Monday, they made it two.Danielle Campbell, a 6'4 post player from Chicago Whitney Young high school, chose Purdue over Penn State and Texas Christian. Danielle's brother Charles is a 6'10 redshirt freshman forward this season at the Indiana University/Purdue University regional campus in Fort Wayne.
Campbell is rated at the nation's No. 23 player by Blue Star, and averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists as a junior. She was named to the Street & Smith All-American fourth team and took part in the USA Basketball Developmental Festival this past summer.
Campbell not only draws good reviews for her on the court accomplishments, but also for her off the court demeanor.
"I have known Danielle since she was in 5th grade and she is one of the sweetest kids I know," replied AAU coach Jerald Davis, who has coached Campbell in the past. "She is really good people."
Campbell will join 6'4 center Stephanie Helgeson, 5'11 forward/guard Jodi Howell, and 5'9 combo guard Lauren Mioton as the final member of Kristy Curry's 2005 recruiting class.
