PURDUE WOMENS BASKETBALL RECRUITING:

    Northwestern calls Chicago girl home

Northwestern University head women's basketball Coach Beth Combs announced Monday that Northwestern has accepted the transfer of Boston University guard Nadia Bibbs. Bibbs is enrolled at Northwestern, but will be ineligible to play until the 2005-06 season.

Bibbs made four starts for Boston University last season and averaged 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in close to 19 minutes per game. Originally from Hillcrest (IL), Northwestern recruited her along with Saint Louis and Geroge Washington, but lost her services to Boston University. She was a first team all-state player as a senior in Illinois, averaging 18 points, seven assists and six steals per game.

Not including transfers like Bibbs, Northwestern and Ohio State are the only two Big Ten programs lacking an early commitment from a member of the high school class of 2005.
