Following an unofficial visit to Purdue last month, 6'8 Andrean power forward Luke Harangody came away impressed with the Boiler staff. "I thought it was pretty exciting," Luke told the Gary Tribune. "Purdue is a Big Ten school, and I like their program. They’re high on the list. They’ve probably shown the most interest right now."
Luke has been offered a scholarship by Purdue, and already has an offer on the table from Northwestern. Illinois, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Dayton, Valparaiso and Thad Matta while at Xavier were all showing more than casual interest in the junior-to-be. He is also getting inquiries from programs in the ACC, Big 12 and SEC.
Luke's father Dave was a tight end at Indiana in the late 70s. His older brother Ty, a senior-to-be, is also a tight end prospect who has a scholarship offer from the Hoosiers, along with Northern Illinois and Ball State.
Before being cut short by a stress fracture in his spine, Luke averaged 21 points and 15 rebounds through eight games early in his sophomore season. Against Roosevelt, he hit for season highs of 32 points and 18 rebounds.
