Big Ten programs Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan are just three programs along with Purdue that find 6'6 small forward Ben Raymond intriguing. Raymond averaged 17.4 points and 7.5 rebounds as a sophomore, and is ranked at Ohio's top junior by Hoop Scoop. Hoop Scoop has him at No. 72 nationally, while Basketball Phenoms likes him at No. 37.
Raymond is one of two highly recruited underclassmen, the other being 6'7 junior post Zach Hillesland, on the Toledo St. John's team. St. John's lost in last year's state semifinals to nationally ranked Columbus Brookhaven and finished the season at 22-4.
Ramblings
Belleville West head coach Bill Schmidt on Xavier Price..."Xavier's a talented player and when he does things right on the floor, he's very hard to stop. Sometimes he gets into some bad habits where he doesn't do things as well as he really should. But when he focuses and does things right, he's one heck of a player."
