Checking out a rumor that Grissom had made a decision, I spoke with west coast analyst Greg Hicks. Hicks contacted Lowell's mother who said Lowell had not made a commitment and likely will not make a decision until after the season ends.
While Purdue is still being mentioned, so are Portland, San Diego, Washington and Oregon. We find it unlikely Grissom will leave the west coast, per comments he has made since early in the fall. But stranger things have happened, and we do know the staff does value exposure in the Fort Wayne area, even if it might be due to a walkon. Yet as of now, any rumors of a Grissom decision can be put to rest, per a conversation Friday with his mother.
OGFP removed him from the future prospects watch list late this summer, and we find no evidence to add him back on that list at this time.
Purdue has 11 scholarship players for the 2004-05 season, with walkon Andrew Ford promised one of those scholarships. The following year, Purdue loses two more guards in Brandon McKnight and Andrew Ford, leaving only four guards on the roster.
