Listed as a three-star player by scout Max Emfinger at the beginning of November 2003, and one of the top 11 wide receivers in junior college. Emfinger promoted him to a five star prospect in his December 11th, 2003 ranking.
He had offers from Clemson, USC, Kansas, West Virginia, Alabama, Texas Tech and Central Florida, and was on track to graduate in December.
