Howell to have surgery January 7The diagnosis was a torn ACL, and surgery has been set for January 7th in Indianapolis. Dr. Shelbourne will perform the procedure with hope to allow Jodi to restart athletics in early summer.
In the meantime, the state leading scorer title for the 2003-04 season now has no favorite. Howell was averaging 31 points before her injury, which would have placed her at the top of her peers.
IHSAA Scoring Leaders
Speaking of the state's top scorers, the latest IHSAA leaders list has been released, covering games through December 9th. At the top of the list is Fort Wayne Canterbury's Megan King with 30.5 ppg. King is a freshman. In close pursuit is Indian Creek's Adrienne Squire with 30.1. Laura Bugher comes at No. 10 in scoring with a 22.0 average, and has the 23rd best rebounding average at 10.1 rebounds per game.
