Preseason No. 1 Arthur Hill, currently ranked No. 3 behind Flint Northern and Detroit King, posted two impressive victories this week.
Against Class A No. 9 Heritage, Arthur Hill forced 22 turnovers to run to a 57-44 win. Arthur Hill set the tone from the beginning of the game by scoring 15 unanswered points in the first three minutes of play. Lakisha Freeman was the second leading scorer with 12 points. Arthur Hill was led by 5'6 shooter Savannah Price with 19 points and nine rebounds.
The senior Price has been a welcomed leader for Arthur Hill this year. Not even ranked among the top 50 players in the state by the Detroit News, while teammates LaKisha Freeman and Heidi Warczinsky ranks 12th and 13th, Price has taken the pressure off the perimeter game while proving she can play inside and out among Michigan Class A teams.
Price was again the leading scorer on Friday in a 63-28 blowout of Saginaw High with 18 points. Freeman added 10 points and six rebounds. Arthur Hill forced 38 turnovers using their full-court pressure, trapping at the half-court.
Arthur Hill's record stands at 9-1, their only loss at the hands of current Class A No. 1 Flint Northern.
