If you can infer anything from the selection of rumored 2005 prospects seeing interest from Purdue, it is that the staff really wants an impact forward. And they are going after the elite of the class.
Chad Millard, a 6'7 junior forward from Trinity HS in Manchester, N.H., is showing interest in Purdue, along with Boston College, Connecticut, Missouri, Providence, and Syracuse. The honor roll student has received quite a bit of early interest from scouts, and was ranked as a top 20 player in some rising sophomore rankings.
He will continue to get looks from scouts as Trinity also features 6'11 Luke Bonner, the younger brother of Florida's Matt Bonner and Stanford's Becky Bonner. Luke Bonner, a senior, is looking at Florida, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Ohio State, Rhode Island and Georgia.
Millard joins two other 2005 forwards on Purdue recruiting board currently enjoying elite rankings from scouts this summer. Carmel's Josh McRoberts is no longer a local secret, and will likely entertain offers from North Carolina and Duke before he leaves the high school hardwood. Another power forward ranked as a top 30 prospect, Amir Johnson, showed early interest in Purdue but may be difficult to pry away from the west coast. Johnson's sister, Indi, will be playing in the post for the Purdue women's team next season.
