McDonalds All-American top 100 released
The pool of talent from which the team rosters for the 2003 McDonalds All-American Game will be chosen has been released. All three of Purdue's signees -- Katie Gearlds, Indi Johnson and Erin Lawless -- have been nominated. The two teams that will compete in the game, consisting each of around 12 players, will be announced live on ESPN SportsCenter on February 27th at 6:00 pm.
Mary Jo Huismann, head basketball coach at Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, will coach the Girls East squad, while James Anderson, head coach at Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Calif., will lead the West squad.
The 2003 McDonalds All-American Game will be played in Cleveland at Gund Arena on March 26, 2003 at 4:30 pm (EST). The game will be broadcast on ESPN on Tuesday, April 1 at 3 p.m. (EST). Tickets range from $10 to $50 and can be bought through TicketMaster locations.
Wisconsin lands 2004 guard
South Shore High School's Jolene Anderson has given Wisconsin a verbal commitment. The 5-foot-9 guard has been one of the state's top scorers for two years running. She currently averages 29 points and 15 rebounds per game for 11-7 South Shore, up slightly from her average of 27 points and 10 rebounds from her sophomore year. Anderson also considered offers from Iowa, Minnesota, Miami and Georgia.
