When opponents look at a player the size of Ije Nwankwo, they expect a tough battle under the boards. But lead the team in assists too?
On Saturday, DCD defeated a scrappy Cleveland St. Edwards team 66-60. As he usually does, Ije ruled the paint with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots. But he also dished out six assists, a stat that also led his team.
Ije was the top scorer again last Wednesday as DCD needed 13 freethrows to pull out a 51-43 win over Pioneer. Ije had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, adding five blocked shots.
