PURDUE MENS BASKETBALL RECRUITING:
Recruiting Update: Sophomore update

    Sophomores in action

Sophomore Dominic James has increased his scoring average to 17.5 after last weekend's 29 point, 11 rebound performance at Delta -- a career high. James is the only scorer in double figures for 5-9 Richmond. James has recently received an invitation to this summer's Nike All-American Camp.

Just this past Thursday, James had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Richmond's 60-52 senior night win over Indianapolis Manual.

Sophomore Luke Zeller had a career night on Thursday with a 39 point, 10 rebound game against Owen Valley. What made the scoring binge more impressive was the fact that he was not just playing against some undersized high school forward in the post. Owen Valley has their own 6'10 center, Casey Neal. Coaches from Indiana University were reportedly onhand for the game.

Washington has landed at No. 7 in Class 3A with a 13-3 record. Washington ranked at No. 6 a week ago, before dropping a 54-48 decision to Vincennes Lincoln. Zeller had 19 points and a pair of three-pointers to go with 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Sophomore Josh McRoberts ranks 13th in the Indianapolis area in scoring with a 15.8 average, shooting 91-of-193 (.472) from the field. He also ranks 4th in rebounds per game with a 9.6 average, and 4th in blocked shots at 2.9 per game.

    Top state rebounders

Taking a look at the most recent rankings of the top rebounders in the state as reported by the IHSAA, several prospects are listed among the best.

Purdue signee Adam Liddell, Elmhurst junior James Hardy, Washington sophomore Luke Zeller and Carmel sophomore Josh McRoberts have landed on the list of top state rebounders. The 6'8 McRoberts ranks 14th averaging 9.6 rebounds per game, the 6'10 Zeller ranks 20th averaging 9.2 rebounds per game, followed by Adam Liddell who ranks 21st with a 9.1 average, and wing James Hardy at 25th with a 8.9 average.
