We can confirm both Katie Gearlds and Erin Lawless have signed their national letters of intent to attend Purdue University. Also expected to sign today is 6'2 post Indi Johnson of Narbonne (CA). We have yet to officially confirm Johnson's signing.
Purdue head coach Kristy Curry likes the leadership Gearlds brings to the program. "Katie is one of the most versatile athletes I have ever witnessed," Curry said in a press release late Wednesday. "She has a tremendous amount of talent and can dominate a game in any number of ways. But the best thing about her is that she is a consummate team player. She will do whatever is necessary to win."
Curry was even more complimentary on Lawless and her open court game. "Erin is an inside-outside threat, runs the floor as well as anyone I've ever seen, and has the ability to dominate on both ends of the court," Curry said. "Her competitiveness and work ethic make her special."
