Three former Boilermakers now have a spot on an NBA roster. One more is now knocking on the door.Joe Marshall, a member of Purdue's 2000-01 and 2001-02 squads, reported to training camp on Sunday in an attempt to make the 10-man roster for the Mobile Revelers (Ala.), a member of the National Basketball Developmental League (NBDL). The NBDL, the NBA’s minor league, offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA’s wing.
Now in its second year of existence, the NBDL has called up ten players, three coaches and three officials to NBA teams. The league also functions as a training ground for members of management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
Marshall was chosen as one of four players allocated to the camp due to their regional ties to a team. Marshall is one of 32 players directly allocated to the eight NBDL teams. Each team has four players allocated to their training camp, with one of the four automatically gaining a berth on the final 10-man squad.
Other players allocated to the Mobile Revelers include 6-foot-5 guard Kevin Crosby, 6-foot-9 forward Ousmane Cisse, and 6-foot-8 wing Rod Grizzard. Crosby is a Junior College All-American and a member of the 1997 BC Rain team who won the Alabama State High School Basketball Championship title. Drafted by the Washington Wizards in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft, Grizzard played collegiately at the University of Alabama. Cisse was a high school all-american from Montgomery, Ala., drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2001 straight out of high school.
Two allocated players made the 10-man roster in 2001-02.
Joining the four allocated players for training camp will be three returning players from the 2001-02 season, two players chosen during a recent open tryout camp, and 14 players drafted by the Revelers on October 31.
The Revelers will cut eight players on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and must submit their final 10-man roster to the NBDL on Nov. 14.
Joe Marshall averaged 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and one assist, in two seasons at Purdue. A native of Mobile, Ala., Marshall played at John LeFlore High School, where he averaged a team leading 18 points per game.
Additional players of local interest attempting to make one of the eight NBDL team rosters

Ten players currently in training camps across the NBDL include Andre Woolridge (Iowa),
