Purdue was thought to lead for Siedah Williams. Yet the recruiting pitch that tends to hook more visitors than not, was a little too much for the shy Williams.
"She liked Debbie Ryan's low-key approach," said Regina coach Patrick Diulus. "She's shy and doesn't like a lot of attention."
Virginia won the top 50 rated recruit over a final list that included Purdue and N.C. State. Virginia received a campus visit from Williams at the end of September, and she concluded her final visit to Purdue the weekend of October 19th.
Purdue continues to look at post players Jessica Davenport and Chloe Kerr. Davenport took her last visit to Ohio State this past weekend, and will decide soon between the hometown Buckeyes or Purdue. Indications are the decision will come down to whether or not she wants to stay closer to home.
