Merrillville High's 6'0 Eugene Wilson has accepted a scholarship to play for the Illini football program. Wilson is also a standout basketball player who averaged 17.1 points and 3.5 assists last year. For the Illini, Wilson is marked to return kicks (4.45 speed) and play wide receiver, but spend a majority of his time as a defensive back. Wilson was recruited by Indiana and a host of regional MAC teams.
Rumors have East Chicago's 6'5 winger Carlton "Oodie" Baker heading to Barton County Junior College next year. Keep an eye open for this guy in two years.
