The Wadsworth Ohio star will choose between Purdue, South Carolina, Harvard, and Xavier by the end of the signing period this Wednesday. Wisconsin has signed arguably the nation's best senior girl in 6'4 center Nina Smith from Waterloo Iowa. Smith is a Parade Magazine First Team All-American and was named Blue Star Illustrated's preseason Player of the Year. Smith averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 blocks as a junior. Smith has had a short list of Wisconsin, Iowa and Tennessee, and chose Wisconsin because she felt better about the campus and program.
Happening almost simultaneously was a committment to Iowa from 6'4 center Amber O'Brien from Worthington Minnesota. O'Brien is stockier than Smith, but only averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds as a junior.
