Indiana's women's program has received a verbal from 5'11 senior Jill Hartman of Evansville Memorial, IN. Hartman averaged 23 points and 8 boards last year.

In the new Athlon College Basketball preseason annual, the Purdue women are picked as the #4 team in the nation, plus are given the honor of having the top recruiting class in the Big Ten. As for the men, Athlon ranks their incoming class as the 4th best in the Big Ten, but we have no idea how much credit they give to transfers and players coming off ineligibility. The men will have seven new players on the roster this fall, including 6'8 big man Cameron Stephens. In a recent alumni outing in Indianapolis, Coach Keady said that Stephens was up to 260 pounds but is slimming back down. Athlon does say that Purdue has the "deepest and most athletic" incoming class in the Big Ten.
