6'9 juco center Anthony Oates has signed with UMASS. Oates finished the season averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds. He reportedly had a final two of UMASS and Indiana State.
Brent Mason, the 1997-98 Journal and Courier area Player of the Year, has signed with St. Joseph's College. The 6'5, 200-pound small forward/shooting guard averaged 17.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists as a senior for 19-5 Lafayette Harrison. Former Purdue guard Todd Foster, now an assistant at St. Joseph's, recruited Mason.
