Michigan State coach Tom Izzo was recently in Marion to check out Zach Randolph and another unknown area talent. A meeting was set up between Izzo and the two players at the Marion YMCA so the two could show their stuff. Randolph reportedly did not show up. Some of the comments Izzo made during the game included criticizing the decision of Ricky Davis in entering the draft and the praising of Robert Traylor as the most impressive young man he has met in the Big Ten outside of his team.
Kansas all-state guard Kelyn Block has signed with Indiana State. The 6'2 200-pound all-city and all-district player from Sumner Academy led his team to the Kansas 4A state championship, averaging 20.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists his senior season.
