Ball State will get a signature on a letter of intent next Wednesday from 6'10 Lew Wallace senior center Lonnie Jones. Jones needs some work, but is a great pickup for the Cardinals. He led the region in blocks last year with 7.6 per game while averging 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Chesterton High's Trent Schrader will be playing for NAIA Taylor University next year in Upland Indiana. Schrader finished his career 10th on Chesterton's leading scorer list (751) after averaging 10 points his senior year. Taylor University might be more of a national name if it didn't play in the same conference with Bethel College, who has who 3 of the last five NAIA national championships. Taylor made the NAIA Final Four in 1991, and has been ranked #1 nationally as recent as the 93-94 season.
