It has been assumed for a while that Eugene Land might want to stay close to home. It now appears "close to home" may mean within 30 statute miles. He is rumored to be choosing now between Cincy and Xavier.
The Rod Thompson saga continues. After getting his eligibility appeal turned down by the IHSA, Rod's parents are now shopping for a home in the Galesburg area. The Galesburg Register-Mail reports that the parents plan to move as soon as housing is available. IHSA director David Fry commented that as soon as the Galesburg Principal or Athletic Director certifies that the move is made, Thompson can immediately gain eligibility to play for Galesburg.
