Wisconsin has received a verbal commitment from Trevon Davis, a 5'11 senior guard from Nazareth Academy, Illinois. Davis said that his decision was based on the fact that Wisconsin had identified him as their #1 choice as early as his sophomore year in high school.
Wisconsin has also received a verbal from a second high school junior. 6'10 230-pound center Dave Mader of Appleton East chose the Badgers over offers from Marquette and Northwestern. Mader averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds his sophomore season.
Indiana will not be traveling down to Lexington today for its scheduled in-home with Lexington Catholic all-stater David Graves. The 6'5 senior verballed to play for Notre Dame after an impressive campus visit. Graves averaged 17 points his junior year, and was reportedly offered scholarships from Miami of Ohio, Miami (FL), LSU and Ole Miss.
Roderick Thompson's appeal to the IHSA regarding his eligibility was not successful. The IHSA declared the talented forward ineligible to play this coming season for Galesburg high school after transferring from Chicago Carver.
Early indications are that star Peoria Manual guard Frankie Williams may be headed to Lincoln Illinois Junior College to join his former teammate Marcus Griffin, due to academics.
Galesburg's Joey Range has reportedly narrowed his list to six...Kentucky, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio State and Illinois State. Since this list was announced, Indiana has supposedly stopped recruiting him due to a disagreement over his official visit to Bloomington. Home visits will continue until September 26th.
