In an article in the Corvallis Gazette-Times in Oregon, Carson's mother Susan Cunningham said that while at one point Carson was strongly considering transferring, a trip home for spring break eased his homesickness a bit. She also said that neither she nor Carson's father has encouraged the switch. "I don't think there's any real reason for anybody to be concerned about him leaving Oregon State," Susan Cunningham said. "I think he's come to terms with it." Carson will not make a final decision until the end of the term in late May, but the article does suggest Purdue as an option if he does transfer.
