Following the Wisconsin game, Coach Keady reportedly returned to the bench and told Kendrick and Weber, "Get me a JUCO point guard!". A JUCO point guard would serve several purposes. First, it would allow Keady to redshirt Mosi Barnes. Secondly, it would provide a little more stability at the point and buy some time until the state's top two point guards become available (Eric Bush 98-99 and Jason Gardner 99-00).
Some players that have Purdue on their list include 6'2 Charles Neal from Florida Community College and 6'1 175# Chauncey Jones from Wabash Valley (Illinois). There are currently 53 ex-JUCO players on NBA squads. Speaking of JUCOs, 6'11 Steven Eldridge still has Purdue on his list, but Purdue is not leading at this point.
