Valparaiso coach Homer Drew threatens to begin giving Purdue and Indiana some competition in the local state recruiting wars. Riding on the success of a third consecutive 20-win season, Drew is actively pursuing most of Indiana's remaining top level talent. On his list are 6-2 all-state guard Travis Best of Frankfort HS, 6-5 wing Kyle Runyon of Madison-Grant HS, and 6-4 guard Monte Gordon of Gary (IN) Roosevelt.
