The annual Gene Pool Road Trip was once again a trip to Crisler Arena. Unfortunately, this year Purdue did not come out on top. Purdue was able to overcome a 16 point deficit in the second half and take a one point lead with under 10 seconds remaining in the game. However, Daniel Horton was allowed to drive the length of the floor and shoot a short jumper, which eventually was tipped in by Michigan freshman Courtney Sims with 1.4 seconds to go. Purdue was unable to get off a final shot after throwing the ball 3/4 of the way up the court. Purdue was led in scoring by David Teague, one of four players in double figures, with 14 points. Buckley, Buscher, and McKnight also added 10 points a piece. Kiefer led Purdue with 8 rebounds, while Teague and McKnight each added 7 boards. Parkinson led the team with 9 assists but also committed a team high 5 turnovers. Most of the team played well in the 2nd half, but Mevlin Buckley's 10 first half points kept Purdue in the game early. Purdue returns for two home games this week against Northwestern on Wednesday and Indiana on Saturday.
