The excitement of Purdue basketball has Brittany Dildine on the hardcourt following her Purdue volleyball career, and there has been talk of Purdue's all-american middle, Stephanie Lynch, also considering playing basketball after her volleyball eligibility has ended in December of 2008. Now, there is another member of the volleyball team with her eye on Versyp's squad, one who has yet to finish her high school career.

Westview High's Tiffany Fisher recently told WSBT-TV she would like to play basketball at Purdue during her fourth and fifth years, following her time with Dave Shondell's volleyball squad.

The 6'2 volleyball/basketball/track star from Topeka, Ind. holds the school career marks for scoring, rebounds and blocked shots. Her sophomore year, Fisher led Westview to the IHSAA state basketball finals, then later that spring finished seventh in the high jump at the state track finals. She followed it up with a fifth place finish in the high jump at the state finals as a junior.

On top of her numerous volleyball accolades, including being ranked the 86th-best player in the nation by Prep Volleyball, Fisher was a member of the Indiana Junior All-Star team this summer after averaging 19.8 points her junior season.

In her last game this past Thursday, Fisher scored a career-high 42 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and added five assists and three steals for 11-2 Westview. According to state scoring numbers compiled by the IHSAA through January 5th, Fisher's 42 points is the second-highest total this year.

She currently averages 25.0 points (4th in the state behind Brittany Rayburn (28.43), Maggie Boyer (27.82) and Skylar Diggins (26.64)), 12.1 rebounds (7th in the state), 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 5.2 blocked shots (2nd in the state). Through 13 games, Fisher has had ten double-doubles and two triple-double games.

Fisher carries a 3.6 gpa and plans to major in health science at Purdue.
