2007: Michelle Clark -SEASON OVER

Oaks Christian finished the regular season with a nine-game winning streak and a 14-9 record. One of the final nine was a 63-32 victory over Nordhoff to win a share of the Tri-Valley League championship.

Oaks Christian entered the Division IIAA CIF-SS tournament against Los Osos and their 6'3 post player. With a team basically consisting of guards, Oaks Christian fouled out the 6'3 opponent and held on for a 48-45 win. Michelle Clark scored a game-high 25 points with eight rebounds and four assists.

Next up was Diamond Ranch in the second round of the 2007 Division IIAA CIF-SS tournament. Diamond Ranch (27-1) came into the game with an average margin of victory of 25.5 points per game this season, and an even more impressive 40.3 points per game margin since January 1st. Diamond Ranch built a 28-16 lead at halftime before Oaks Christian (15-10) got back into the game with a 17-point third quarter to pull within three. But the season ended for Oaks Christian with a 45-39 loss. Clark finished with eight points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal.

2007: Samantha Woods -NEXT GAME: FRI 3/2 vs. New Trier (28-6)

With a 30-1 record, Bolingbrook enters the final weekend of the IHSA season. Sam Woods has been the team's scoring leader six times this season and rebounding leader five times, only a part of what is such a balanced team. Five different players have held game-high honors this season, and six different players have led the team in rebounding in games over the course of the season.

Bolingbrook advanced to the IHSA quarterfinals with a 72-31 win over Montini in the Super-Sectional. Sam Woods had six points, two rebounds and three assists. Bolingbrook hit the 50-point mark before Montini hit double-digits. And to further appreciate the talent and depth of Bolingbrook, Montini is not a team to be disregarded. Montini (25-8) has one of the best freshmen in Illinois in 6'3 Michala Johnson, who averages 20 points and 12 rebounds a game, another promising freshman wing in 6'1 Alison Seberger, and junior point guard Cootie Leeberg. Yet Bolingbrook forced 29 turnovers, 16 more tunrovers than Montini had shots from the field, using a full court man pressure even into the fourth quarter.

Up next for Bolingbrook is state finals weekend, beginning with a quarterfinal matchup with New Trier and 6'5 all-american post Amy Jaeschke. If Bolingbrook advances past New Trier, they will play the winner of the Buffalo Grove/Morton game on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. CT in the state semifinals. The loser in that game goes to the third place game Saturday at 6:30 p.m., and the winner going to the championship game at 8:15 p.m.

2007: Ta'Shia Phillips -NEXT GAME: SAT 3/3 vs. No. 8 Wawasee (22-3)

Phillips had 30 points and 19 rebounds as Brebeuf (22-6) won a shot at the IHSAA Class 3A title this coming weekend with a 55-53 semistate win over Evansville Bosse (22-4). Brebeuf scored the game's final seven points for the come from behind victory. Phillips was 12-of-24 from the field and hit 6-of-9 freethrows.
