    Detroit Community season over

A battle of Class C No. 1 and No. 2 did not disappoint as the state quarterfinal game between Detroit Community and undefeated No. 2 Saginaw Nouvel went into overtime before Nouvel squeeked out the 55-54 victory. Lakeshia Mosley scored Community's final two points on freethrows, then quickly fouled with four seconds left. Nouvel missed the first of a one-and-one, but Community could not get the pass downcourt in time.

Nouvel used a 2-3 zone to deny inlet passes to Mosley. Mosley led Community with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Community finished the season with a 21-2 record.

    Help from "Special K"

The NWITimes has an article on former Boilermaker Anne Kvachkoff-Equiha. Kvachkoff-Equiha is still heavily involved in the program, from participating on an athletic advisory board at Purdue to making sure Versyp knows about talent in the Region area.

    Sarah Boothe update

A recent season preview for Warren High (IL) had 2008 6'5 center Sarah Boothe interested in Big Ten programs Illinois and Wisconsin, along with Notre Dame, DePaul and Stanford.

Warren was ranked No. 14 in the preseason by the Chicago Sun Times.

    Brittany Rayburn stats

Through three games, Brittany Rayburn is averaging 29 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.7 steals per game.

    Mosley honors

Lakeshia Mosley has been named a Detroit All-Metro first teamer by the Detroit News. Class C No. 1 Detroit Community lost in the state quarterfinal game to Class C No. 2 Saginaw Nouvel.
