Teams have been divided under the Hickory and Terhune names. Eason to Michigan State?

Despite recent talk of Hope High (IL) junior Latear Eason committing to Michigan State, a source close to her parents and high school coach confirm no official commitment has occurred. However, Eason does have Michigan State high on her list. Eason led Hope in every statistical category except rebounding this past season. She averaged 19.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.4 steals, shooting 54.5 percent from the field and 73.1 from the line. Her assist-to-turnover ratio was 2-1. Eason has plays summer ball with The Family.

    More Big Ten recruiting

Minnesota has added two players in the late signing period. Tanisha Smith, a 6-foot-1 power forward from Whitby, Ontario, has signed a national letter of intent, while Jordan Barnes of Minnetonka has joined the team as a walk-on.

Barnes, a 5-10 wing who has attended Minnesota the past two years, graduated from Hopkins High (MN) and played one semester at Winthrop University (SC) while on a scholarship. She will join the Gophers with junior eligibility.

Tanisha Smith played for the same Toronto club team, Toronto Five-O, as current Purdue forward Natasha Bogdanova, and University of Michigan forward Stephanie Skrba.
