Suffering their second consecutive loss, No. 3 North Central dropped a game to No. 1 Carmel, 56-49. North Central tied the score shortly into the fourth quarter, but Carmel extended the lead back to seven and held it there for the win. Harris had 11 points and seven rebounds.
North Central cruised past Marion, 65-16, in the first game of the North Central Tournament as 13 Panther players scored in the game. Harris had 10 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in 18 minutes of play. Waiting for North Central in the second game of the tournament was Hamilton (OH), who beat East Chicago the night before, 55-52. Harris led North Central with 19 points and three blocks in three quarters of play as North Central defeated Hamilton 61-29.
North Central head coach Alan Vickrey earned his 400th career win during a 63-35 win over Decatur Central. Harris led all scorers with 26 points, 12 coming in the first quarter.
In a five-point hole at the end of the third, North Central rallied to take a 46-42 conference win from Ben Davis. Harris had a game-high 21 points.
No. 9 Center Grove extended their win streak to 10 game with a 52-46 win over No. 5 North Central. Both Harris and senior Amy Sutton fouled out, Harris picking up her fourth two minutes into the fourth quarter, and was gone with two minutes remaining. Harris finished with six points and three boards on 3-of-5 shooting.
In the first game of the Chicagoland Classic, Amber Harris went up against some equal size in 6'5 Amy Jaeschke. The matchup, statistically, would end up a draw. Harris finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and six blocks while Jaeschke finished with 18 points, six rebounds and six blocked shots. North Central won 57-48 against New Trier, ranked No. 9 in Illinois.
In their second game of the Chicagoland Classic/McDonald's Shootout, North Central ran to a 70-41 win over Barlett (IL). The Panthers ran out to a 20-point lead in the second quarter as a result of a 17-0 run. Harris had 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
North Central's record stands at 14-3, and is ranked No. 7 in Class 4A as of January 17th.
