    Penn State adds 6'2 juco

    Charity Renfro, a 6'2 post player from Yavapai Community College (AZ), has signed to play at Penn State and will be on the floor for the upcoming 2005-06 season. Originally from Las Vegas, Renfro averaged 10.7 points and 8.8 rebounds, shooting 45-percent from the field.

    Northwestern add local talent in 2006

    Northwestern has received an oral commitment from 6'2 junior post Kaitlin McInerney of Benet Academy, (IL). McInerney, a 2005 IBCA Class AA fourth team selection, led Benet Academy to a 25-7 record, losing in the sectional finals to eventual Class AA semistate participant Bolingbrook. McInerney is considered one of the top players in Illinois in the class of 2006. Northwestern hopes to also tap what looks to be a deep Class of 2007 in the Chicago area.

    Taylor Lawless honored

    Taylor Lawless, the 6'1 sophomore from Wheeling High (IL) and cousin to Purdue's Erin Lawless, was named to the IBCA Class AA All-State second team. Lawless was one of only two sophomores to make either the first or second all-state teams. The other, Biannca Ward of Peoria Richwoods (IL), was named first team after leading her team to the 2005 Illinois Class AA title.
