    2007: Ta'Shia Phillips

The much anticipated rematch of last year's Class 3A state final game was postponed due to weather on Saturday. Fort Wayne Luers, who lost to Brebeuf 54-38 in last year's state championship game, brings in a 13-1 record ranked No. 3 in Class 3A. Brebeuf currently is ranked at No. 9.

It will not do much to improve her position among the state scoring leaders, but Phillips still led all scorers in a slowed down game against McCutcheon on Thursday. Ta'Shia led the way with 12 points and four blocks as Brebeuf won 36-30, stretching their winning streak to four games.

A week ago last Saturday, Phillips led again in a 61-45 win over South Bend Riley. Phillips has 25 points, 12 in the second quarter that stretched the lead into double digits. Indiana State bound Kendra Reynolds led Riley with 14.

    2007: Sydney Smallbone

Smallbone was named the South Bend Tribune Athlete of the Week following two wins this past week. Smallbone, a 5'9 shooting guard, scored 20 points and added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 81-59 win over Washington. On Thursday, she contributed 14 points in a 87-17 win over Gary Wallace.

She is averaging 13.5 points per game for St. Joseph's, a team currently ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.

    2007: Jantel Lavender

Lavender had 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots as Cleveland Central Catholic continued to be a giant killer by defeating Division II No. 1 Columbus Eastmoor. Central Catholic is ranked No. 3 in Division III, but handed their Division II foe thier first loss of the season. CC defeated Eastmoor in Columbus, 67-63. Eastmoor already holds a victory this season over the top ranked team in Division III, Regina.
